Nicholas Hill, LPCC | Somatic Psychotherapist

 Welcome to Broad Winged Counseling

You're not here because you're broken. You're here because your body won't let you forget — the anxiety that won't settle, the tension in your shoulders, the shutdown when intimacy gets too close.

These aren't problems. They're intelligence, and you're ready to listen.

I'm Nicholas, a somatic therapist specializing in trauma, relationships, and sexuality. This work isn't about understanding your patterns better — it's about feeling your way into something different.

You're not here because you're broken. You're here because your body won't let you forget — the anxiety that won't settle, the tension in your shoulders, the shutdown when intimacy gets too close. These aren't problems. They're intelligence, and you're ready to listen.

I'm Nicholas, a body-centered therapist specializing in somatic work, trauma resolution, and nervous system regulation. I'm Hakomi-trained and work with individuals and couples online throughout Colorado.

This isn't about understanding your patterns better — it's about feeling your way into something different. The shift happens in your body, not just your mind.

Release Trauma

Rebuild Connection

Reclaim Sexuality

Trauma | Relationships | Sexuality

You can't think your way out of a nervous system stuck in survival. You can't analyze your way into intimacy. You can't understand your way back to desire. The body doesn't speak that language.

These aren't separate issues; they're threads of the same pattern, woven through how you feel, protect, and let yourself be alive.

This work is for those ready to go beneath the surface — to explore the patterns quietly shaping how you feel, relate, and desire.

Areas of Focus

  • Trauma lives in the body — in tension that won't settle, hypervigilance that never turns off, shutdown when things get close.

This work helps your nervous system learn it's safe to feel without collapsing. We track sensation, breath, impulse. We slow the panic response.

Not about reliving the past. About building a body that feels like home.

  • You've learned to show up by collapsing or performing. Real connection lives in between — where you can be vulnerable without disappearing.

This work explores boundaries, communication, and what it feels like to stay in your body while staying in relationship.

Learning to feel your ground, speak your truth, meet others without losing yourself.

  • Sexuality isn't just about sex. It's about presence, aliveness, the energy fueling how you connect and create.

For many, that energy has been buried beneath trauma, shame, performance, or disconnection.

This work helps you reconnect with your body's capacity for pleasure and intimacy — not as something to achieve, but as something already alive in you.

    Healing happens here.

  • Trauma lives in the body. In the tension that won't settle, the hypervigilance that never turns off, the shutdown when things get too close. You've spent a lifetime holding it together, and your nervous system is exhausted. This work helps your body learn it's safe to feel without collapsing. We track sensation, breath, and impulse. We slow down the panic response. We teach your system to regulate, rest, and choose differently. This isn't about reliving the past. It's about building a nervous system that can handle the present. A body that feels like home again.

  • You've learned to show up by collapsing into others or by performing strength. Real connection lives somewhere in between, where you can be vulnerable without disappearing and present without abandoning yourself. This work explores boundaries, communication, and what it actually feels like to stay in your body while staying in relationship. We work with the patterns you learned early and the ways you learned to earn love, avoid conflict, or shut down when things get hard. This isn't theory. It's body-level work: learning to feel your ground, speak your truth, and meet others without losing yourself.

  • Sexuality isn't just about sex. It's about presence, aliveness, and the energy that fuels how you connect, create, and move through the world. For many, that energy has been buried beneath trauma, shame, performance anxiety, or years of disconnection. This work helps you reconnect with your body's capacity for pleasure, sensation, and intimacy — not as something to achieve, but as something already alive in you. We explore what excites you, what shuts you down, and where the blocks live. Whether you're healing from sexual trauma, navigating desire discrepancies in a relationship, or simply feeling cut off from your own aliveness this work meets you where you are.

A Personal Note

My father's death broke me open. Grief became the teacher I didn't ask for. It showed me what the body holds when the mind has nothing left to say, and what it takes to actually move through something instead of just understanding it.

That loss pulled me to the mountains, to meditative silence, to years of learning how sensation speaks louder than story. I trained in somatic work because talking wasn't enough. The deeper I went, the clearer it became: healing requires all of you — not just the safe parts, but the messy, vulnerable, alive parts that trauma works hardest to shut down.

I've sat with people in crisis, worked in the mess of community mental health, and done my own work in the places most people avoid. I'm not here because I figured it out; I'm here because I know what it's like to be stuck in your own nervous system, wondering if you'll ever feel like yourself again.

If you're ready to stop thinking about it and start feeling your way through, let's talk.

Frequently Asked

  • Somatic therapy treats your body as a source of wisdom, not a problem to fix. We track sensations, breath, tension, and impulses — the places where trauma, patterns, and blocks live beneath words. When the body is met with presence instead of judgment, it can soften, reorganize, and choose. This isn't about understanding your story better — it's about feeling your way into change.

  • People shaped by high-pressure environments: high-conflict homes, instability, trauma, or a lifetime of holding it together. People whose nervous system never fully relaxes. People who are tired of understanding their patterns without feeling different.

If therapy has helped you think about your life but not actually change how you feel in your body, this is different work. It's for those ready to go beneath words, into sensation and feeling, where lasting shifts happen.

  • We start with what's present — what brought you here, what you're feeling in your body right now. From there, we track sensations, breath, tension, and the impulses that arise. Every session is tailored to what your body is ready to explore. There's no script.

  • Both. I work with individuals navigating trauma, relational patterns, or sexual disconnection, and with couples ready to rebuild intimacy, improve communication, and learn to meet each other beneath defensiveness and reactivity.

  • There's no timeline. Some people notice shifts quickly. Others move slower. The focus is on depth and embodied change, not speed. We work until your body feels different, not just until your mind understands.

  • I'm a private-pay provider and don't bill insurance directly. I can provide a superbill for possible reimbursement depending on your plan. I also offer limited sliding-scale availability for those who qualify.

  • Currently virtual only. These sessions are secure, interactive, and fully effective for somatic and relational work. The body speaks just as clearly on screen.

  • I'm trained in Hakomi (body-centered, mindfulness-based), Vipassana meditation, trauma-informed frameworks, and crisis intervention. But the real answer is: whatever meets what's alive in the room. Techniques serve the person, not the other way around.
